Tiwa Savage, Obi Cubana, Squid game lead Nigeria’s top Google searches in 2021

There are some interesting trends emerging from Google’s 2021 Year in Search results for Nigerians.

According to Google each year, it compiles a list of the most talked-about personalities and topics.

For example, according to a press release obtained by PurelyNG, some of the most popular search terms, names and trends include Afrobeat singer Tiwa Savage, the Euro 2020 football competition, and the lyrics to Joe Boy’s current hit single, “Alchohol”.

TV series Squid Game, which was loved around the world, was the most popular film and series this year.

This year, Nigerians turned to Google to help them make sense of the world, from questions like “How to check JAMB result 2021?” to search keywords like “Alcohol lyrics,” the name of T.B. Joshua, and the “Pornstar martini recipe.”
