Wizkid Makes Another Billboard History, Displaces Fela’s Record

Report reaching Purelyng confirms that Nigerian singer Wizkid has now broken Fela Kuti’s record of the artiste with the highest number of weeks spent on Billboard World Albums of 45 weeks after Wizkid equalled the record few days back.

 

Fela Kuti who made the Billboard World Albums Chart with his ‘The Best of Black President’ album after spending 45 weeks has been in possession of the record since 1999 until Wizkid’s Made in Lagos Album broke the record.

 

The 2020 monster album from Wizkid has gained wide media traction since it’s release as the star track, Essence which featured fellow compatriot, Tems took the album to a whole new level.

Also, Fela Kuti’s album peaked at number three while Wizkid’s album peaked at number one on the chart, making it the only Nigerian album to achieve that feat.
