Buy-interests in Dangote Cement Plc shares today led to a gain of N272.65 billion in market value as favourable feelings around the shares of the cement producer generated a 6.53 percent advance in share price at the closing of trading operations on the Nigerian Stock Exchange.
At the closing of the market today, statistics revealed that the shares of DANGOTE CEMENT appreciated from N245.00 per share at the start of the day to N261.00 per share at the close of the market today, showing a growth of 6.53 percent .
This saw the market capitalization of the biggest cement maker improve from N4.17 trillion to N4.45 trillion at the closing of trading activities today, placing the total market value gained at N272.65 billion.
At the present price, the shares of Dangote Cement Plc is currently trading at its 52-week high, at N261.00 per share. However, the shares of the company have returned roughly 90.51 percent profits for investors who bought them at their 52-week low trading price of N137.00 per share.
Year-to-date however, Dangote Cement Plc share price has strengthened by 6.57 percent . During today’s trading hours, 1,213,624 ordinary shares worth roughly N307.34 million, were traded in 68 conducted trades.
In comparison, the shares of Wapco Plc appreciated 0.66 percent to close at N22.75, while BUA Cement Plc closed flat at N66.00 per share, at the end of today’s trading session.
At the close of trading activities today, the NGX All-Share Index and Market capitalization appreciated by 1.89 percent to close at 39,529.29 index points and N20.63 trillion respectively.
The NGX Industrial Goods Index rose by 1.78 percent to conclude the day at 1,224.72 index points.
