The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has arrested Victor Ukachuckwu, a 29-year-old commercial biker, for defrauding Point of Sales (POS) operators in Ondo State using an online application he acquired from the Internet.

Mr Hammed Abodunrin, State Commandant of the NSCDC, told journalists in Akure on Friday, according to NAN.

According to him, the suspect used his ruses to deceive a number of POS operators.

He added that once the suspect duped POS operators, he would use a firewall application to contact his own bank and alert them that a transaction had failed.

“He would inform the bank that he had purchased certain items and that the goods had not been delivered to him. Thus the transaction should be reversed and the funds returned to his account. He planned to return later and withdraw the sum that had been reversed.

“The suspect was detained today, and we were going to issue him bail when we decided to approach his bank, and another money just came back into his account, indicating that there are many more that will come back into his account,” the NSCDC Chief added.
