The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State has described Ademola Adeleke, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate in the 2019 gubernatorial election, as an individual who has nothing to offer the people of the state other than making frivolous promises and reversing the state’s progress.
The statement, signed by Kunle Oyatomi, the party’s Director of Publicity, Research, and Strategy and made public, is in response to a statement attributed to Ademola Adeleke when he visited Adeyeye Ogunwusi, the Ooni of Ife, on Wednesday.
“By God’s grace, I will make provision for a private jet as a gift to make all Ooni’s local and international trips easier,” Adeleke allegedly said, according to the Oyatomi. I’m not going to make a mouth (sic), but that’s what I’m going to do.”
He called Senator Adeleke a disgrace to his family and party for insulting the revered monarch, adding that her statement was a joke taken too far.
“It is ridiculous, pedestrian, and complete lack of understanding on how a government runs,” the party spokesperson said.
The Lagos State government has never considered providing Oba Akiolu of Lagos with a private jet and helicopter with its vast financial resources. As a successful young entrepreneur, Ooni Ogunwusi understands what it takes to own a private jet and should not be deceived or insulted by anyone. If he so desires, he can easily afford a private jet.
“It is now clear to the people of Osun that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has no quality aspirants other than welfare parasites, treasury looters, and forerunners of lazy people with nothing to offer the state’s good people.” Unfortunately, Ademola Adeleke is being paraded as a candidate.”
Adeleke’s statement, according to Oyatomi, exposed the PDP candidate as a misfit and economic illiterate.
The APC asked if Senator Ademola Adeleke would approach his elder brother Deji Adeleke to use his funds to buy the private jet as a gift to the royal father.
“Has he offered one to Timi of Edeland?” How many private jets will he give to royal fathers? How much has the Adeleke family contributed to the repair of Ede’s roads and the upliftment of his community’s people?
“This demeaning statement makes Adeleke and his party appear even more childish, petty, irresponsible, and untrustworthy,” he said.
While stating that Osun will never return to the PDP era of insecurity, treasury looting, and underdevelopment, Oyatomi also said that Adeleke was welcome to run for governor in 2022 because he wanted to waste more of his family’s money.
