Three alleged kidnappers were apprehended in Bauchi by police officers from the Nigeria Police Force’s Zone 12 Command Headquarters in collaboration with members of a vigilante organization.
According to Zonal Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) Thomas Goni, the offenders were apprehended while attempting to abduct their victim in Bauchi’s Waya Makafi neighborhood.
On Thursday, Goni, a Superintendent of Police (SP), said the alleged kidnappers attacked the home of their victim, Alhaji Yakubu Iliyasu, a resident of Waya Makafi, and abducted him.
Al-Amin Umar Yusuf (38), Mubarak Yahaya Dan Bakwai (27) and Sadiq Adamu (21), all of Waya Makafi, were designated as suspects.

According to SP Goni, the accused kidnappers demanded an undisclosed sum of money from their victim before whisking him away.
He claimed that the suspects’ luck ran out when they were approached by vigilantes in the vicinity.
“I can report that three suspected kidnappers have been apprehended. We have them under our control.
“Before the cops arrived, members of a vigilante organization in the area arrested them.” The cops arrived to back up the vigilante.
“They stated that they require funds” (from their victim). They were apprehended while attempting to abduct their victim.”
He said the Assistant Inspector-General of Police (AIG) in charge of Zone 12, Audu Adamu Madaki, had ordered a discreet inquiry into the allegation and that they would be sent to court for prosecution once the investigation was completed.
