The bodies of Mr Michael Eso and Mrs Oluwafisayo Deborah Eso, who were discovered on their dining room floor in Ilesa on Friday, October 1, 2021, have been buried.
On Thursday morning, they were buried at their home in Ireti Ayo, Ilesa, in the presence of their families, neighbours, and sympathisers.
Sympathizers described the couple as easygoing, hardworking, and God-fearing and said their death was untimely and unfortunate.
They also stated that the deceased was in good health before going to bed on the eve of that fateful day, urging the police to investigate the cause of their deaths.
After a solemn service, the Esos, 55 and 50 years old, were buried by their church, Last Days Deliverance Miracle Ministry, Agbala Irapada, Ilesa.
Last Friday, the couple was discovered dead in their apartment, and the circumstances surrounding their deaths have sparked suspicion among Nigerians.
Yemisi Opalola, the Osun State Police Command spokesperson, had previously stated that the command had begun investigations into the circumstances surrounding the couple’s death.
The results of the autopsies would be made public, according to Opalola, so that justice could be served.
Meanwhile, the primary suspect in the deaths, a 13-year-old Beninese housekeeper, is in police custody and cooperating with the investigation.
