The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in Oyo State has detained 37 suspected Internet scammers. Officers apprehended the suspects from the agency’s Ibadan zonal command at various places in Ibadan, the state capital, and Oyo town.
Wilson Uwujaren, the EFCC’s Head of Media and Publicity, confirmed this in a statement on Monday.
According to a spokesman for the anti-graft agency, the suspects were arrested on Friday as a result of intelligence on their alleged involvement in Internet fraud.
Adeniran Ayobami, Abiodun Olamide, Olaoye Bolarinwa, Ajibade Ayodeji, Babalola David, Fatunbi Oludotun, Abdusalam Ololade, Taiwo Olaoluwa, and Oyewole Fred are among the suspects.
Akinboade Jimmy, Ishola Labayo, Ayinde Ridwan, Oladokun Akolade, Adebayo Basit, Adebayo Kudus, Popoola Ayomide, Oladoja Peter, Olakunbi Ayodeji, Khalid Mohammed, Salimon Sodiq, and Oparemi James are among the others.
He stated that the suspects would be charged in court after the investigation was completed.
