Aishatu Kabiru, a 17-year-old girl from the same address, stabbed the victim in the back of her neck and left her in a pool of blood.
According to a neighbour, the two women were at odds over the supposed sharing of one man.
DSP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, a spokesman for the Kano police command, verified the occurrence.
“The cops,” he claims, we received information that a 28-year-old Bahijja Abubakar of Shekar Maidaki Quarters, Kumbotso LGA, Kano State, had been stabbed in the back of her neck by another girl and had escaped to an unknown destination.”
“After getting the complaint, CP Sama’ila Shu’aibu Dikko, the Commissioner of Police, Kano State Command, directed Kumbotso police Division to proceed to the scene,” he said.
According to him, the crew took the woman to Kano’s Murtala Mohammed Specialist Hospital, where she was admitted.
According to Kiyawa, the person died on Friday while undergoing treatment.
On Saturday, he added that police arrested the suspect, Aisha Kabiru, in a hideaway in Zawaciki Quarters.
According to the suspect, she had a misunderstanding with the dead, which resulted in them fighting.
She then took a sharp knife and stabbed Bahijja in the back of the neck, killing her.
