The Federal Government has begun distributing N8.5 billion to 144, 000 Katsina State households.
The Conditional Cash Transfer (CCT) Scheme is used to distribute funds to low-income families.
The money would be distributed in two phases, according to State Coordinator Shafi’u Abdullahi, who spoke to the News Agency of Nigeria.
“We’ve agreed to share N4.250 billion. We’ll split the remaining N4.250 billion after 10 days, bringing the entire amount to N8.5 billion.”
He explained that the disbursement had previously been halted because the administration wanted the monies to go to the proper people.
According to Abdullahi, each female beneficiary will receive N5,000 each month for a year, for a total of N60,000.
“We have begun paying over 144,000 households half of the amount (N30,000).” We’ll finish the last half in the following ten days,” he continued.
According to the coordinator, the initiative had been implemented in 12 of Katsina’s 34 Local Government Areas.
Batagarawa, Daura, Ingawa, and Bindawa are among the LGAs that have benefited.
