Unknown gunmen killed two people on Sunday in Kaduna State’s Ungwan Taila village, Zangon Kataf Local Government Area.
In a report to the state government, the troops of Operation Safe Haven stated that the security personnel arrived in the village after the attackers had killed the two residents.
In a statement issued on Sunday, Mr Samuel Aruwan, the state Commissioner of the Ministry of Internal Security and Home Affairs, explained that the incident was reported by troops from Operation Safe Haven.
Gov. Nasir el-Rufai, according to the statement, expressed regret for the additional loss of life and property from such attacks in the area.
He prayed for the repose of the souls of the deceased, expressed his heartfelt condolences to their families, and assured them of the government’s unwavering efforts to maintain peace in the state.
“In the meantime, the troops will continue search-and-rescue operations in the area,” according to the statement.
Citizens will be kept informed of any new developments.
