Military sends warning to people fueling crisis in Plateau state

The Special Task Force, Operation Safe Haven, which is keeping the peace in Plateau State, has cautioned individuals feeding the state’s crises to halt the consequences.

Maj.-Gen. Ibrahim Ali, the task force’s commander, spoke while receiving the reports of a special peace committee formed by the task force. He said the perpetrators would be found soon.

Ali also cautioned community leaders who harbour criminals in their neighbourhoods to stop or face the consequences of the law.

“I want to send a stern caution to crisis merchants and those who let their areas be utilized as safe havens for criminals,” he said, according to NAN.

He warned that they would be dealt with harshly, regardless of their positions or social standing.

As a result, Ali asked the state’s community, traditional, and religious leaders to join the task force in attaining peace in all sections of the state.

The commander also urged Plateau residents to be peace ambassadors and to help establish a better Plateau.
