Niger state government reduces school fees for students

Abubakar Sani Bello, Governor of Niger State, has approved a further reduction in tuition fees for students at Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University, Lapai, IBBUL.

The governor made the announcement in a statement issued in Minna by Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Ahmed Ibrahim Matane.

According to him, the decrease only affects returning students (indigenes) from N50,000 to N46,000 and new students (indigenes) from N95,000 to N86,000.

The SSG explained that the governor made his decision after hearing from members of the State House of Assembly and other stakeholders, including the Students’ Union.

Tuition fees for non-indigenous students (returning), new students (non-indigene), new foreign students, and returning foreign students, however, remain unchanged, according to the governor.
