The Inspector-General of Police, and the head of Nigeria police force Usman Alkali Baba, made a speech today and has assured the nation of ‘maximum security as the country celebrates its 61st independence anniversary on Friday 1st October 2021.
He said that the Police Force had prepared adequate security measures to protect the citizens from any form of situation that might hinder the success of the celebration.
He stated that the government and citizens should trust them and that there’s no cause to worry. The success of all the activities prepared for the anniversary celebration will be handled appropriately by the force.
Consequently, the Assistant Inspectors General of Police and Commissioners of Police in all the Zonal and State Commands and the FCT have been instructed to lead the Independence Day anniversary security operations from the frontline.
