President Buhari appoints new NEPC CEO

President Muhammadu Buhari accepted Dr Ezra Yakusak’s nomination as the new Executive Director/Chief Executive Officer of the Nigeria Export Promotion Council, NEPC, on Tuesday.

The president’s spokeswoman, Garba Shehu, revealed the situation in a statement issued and made available to journalists on Tuesday night.

The appointment is for a four-year initial term, according to the announcement, and is made under Section 7 (1) of the NEPC (Establishment) Act, 1987.

The position, according to Mr. Garba, will begin on November 27, 2021.

Dr. Yakusak was the Director, Policy and Strategy, NEPC, until his appointment. He holds a PhD in commercial law from Ahmadu Bello University.

He has also served on the Council’s Governing Board as Secretary.
