“In Kogi State, my administration will not spare any criminals. We will continue to demolish their house and properties, regardless of how closely they are linked. Kogi is a peaceful haven, and my administration determined that Kogite sleep with their eyes closed,” he added.
Army Record Commander Major General Okpe William Ali remarked earlier that Exercise Enduring Peace is an Army level exercise planned to be undertaken in the fourth quarter of the year to checkmate all forms of criminality as the Yuletide season approaches.
“This is due to the ongoing security challenges across the country. It may be of interest to our guests to know that similar exercises are also taking place in other parts of the country under different names, depending on the perception of threats and the peculiarities of each region,” he added.
Ali stated that Exercise Enduring Peace is scheduled to take place from October 4th to December 23rd, 2021.
The Commander went on to say that
“The exercise will involve a series of operational activities such as patrols, ambushes, and raids on criminal hideouts.”
“It will also see some non-kinetic activities in the form of Civil-Military Cooperation (Cimpolitical Programs such as Medical Outreach, among others. Our decision to launch Exercise ENDURING PEACE with Medical Outreach is firmly rooted in our belief that the support of host communities is critical to the overall success of the exercise and operations.
“Therefore, this Medical Outrage is put together to support the host communities within our areas of operation for their cooperation. It is also meant to further cement the existing cordial relationship between Command Army Records and the host communities”.
Ali described all security agencies as critical stakeholders who must work together to achieve a common goal of safeguarding the life and property of Nigerians.
A member of the Hunters Group of Nigeria, Kogi State Chapter Saliu Jimoh, who spoke on behalf of the host communities, said through a collaborative effort with security agencies, they have arrested more than ten kidnapped suspects and freed their victims from their abductors.
