The Zamfara State Police Command has announced the rescue of one Mudassiru Malan from a kidnappers’ den, noting that the state’s ongoing fight against terrorists yields positive results as the terrorists gradually flee the state.
According to a press statement signed by the command’s spokesman, SP Mohammed Shehu, the victim was rescued from Sabon Garin Rini Village in the state’s Bakura Local Government Area by Police Tactical Operatives in collaboration with vigilantes deployed along the Maradun-Kaura Namoda axis.
“The victim, who was abducted six weeks ago, was safely rescued by police without sustaining any injuries to the victim or security forces,” the statement read.
According to the statement, while handing over the rescued victim to the Bakura Local Government Sole Administrator, the Commissioner of Police, Mr. Ayuba Elkanah, assured the state’s citizens that the police and other security agencies would continue their onslaught against the activities of recalcitrant bandits and other criminal elements in the state.
The commissioner added that the state’s police and other security agencies seek the entire public’s support to carry out their constitutional responsibilities, noting that no security agency can succeed without public cooperation.
