Eleven Anambra State legislators from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) have switched allegiance to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) (APC).

Five current and four former members of the House of Representatives, as well as two members of the Anambra State House of Assembly, have defected.

On Thursday, they were all received by Mai Mala Buni, Chairman of the APC Caretaker Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee.

Mamman Mohammed, Governor Buni’s Director General of Press and Media Affairs, revealed this in a statement to the media.

Gov. Buni congratulated the new entrants in the statement, saying they made the right decision by joining the National Party and bringing their people into the national movement.

“You made the correct decision at the appropriate time. You will have all of the party’s rights and privileges,” Buni assured.

The defectors praised Governor Buni for providing APC with the necessary leadership and propelling the party to greater heights.

They promised to deliver their constituencies to the party in the upcoming governorship election in Anambra.

Mr Femi Gbajabiamila, Speaker of the House of Representatives, Deputy Senate President Omo Agege, and the Governors of Imo, Kogi, Kano, Jigawa, and Kebbi States aided the party chairman in welcoming the new members.
