The All Progressives Congress (APC) has scheduled the local government congress during the first week of September 2021.
This was revealed at a meeting of the State Working Committee (SWC) conducted on Tuesday, where committee members reviewed the previous wards’ congress and found it to be rancour-free across the state’s 178 political wards.
The conference, which was presided over by State Deputy Governor Idi Barde Gubana, who also serves as Chairman of the State Working Committee, was conducted to layout tactics for conducting credible, transparent, and participatory APC congresses at the local, state, and national levels.
Gubana urged all stakeholders in Yobe state to organize a peaceful wards’ congress, emphasizing that the wards’ congress aimed to offer the ruling party a stronger platform to build on its victories in the state and across the country.
He also praised Mai Mala Buni, the Chairman of the National Caretaker Committee and the Governor of Yobe State, for embracing the consensus agreement that culminated in the peaceful holding of ward congresses across the country.
He stated, “Yobe is a home of APC as one family and united.”
