According to ESPN, Manchester United forward Jesse Lingard has turned down a new deal.
Lingard is looking for reassurance about his chances of making the first team this season.
The 28-year-old is nearing the end of his current contract and has been offered a new one.
On the other hand, Lingard has rejected down United’s initial approach and wants to make sure he gets regular playing time before deciding on his future.
If a new contract with United is not reached, he will be free to go at the end of the season.
From January, Lingard will be eligible to negotiate with clubs outside of England.
The England international is determined to preserve his spot in Gareth Southgate’s England side ahead of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
He just missed out on the spot in the Euro 2020 team.
