According to the UK Sun, Manchester United players have asked Cristiano Ronaldo to take on a new role in the dressing room.
The 36-year-old allegedly interrupted manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s half-time speech with United trailing Atalanta 2-0 in the Champions League in midweek.
Solskjaer was attempting to settle the tension when Ronaldo intervened and gave United players the hairdryer treatment.
According to reports, Ronaldo addressed his Manchester United teammates, “Are you not ashamed?” as he slammed their first-half performance.
The Portugal captain finally scored the game-winning third goal as the Red Devils won 3-2 at Old Trafford.
Following that, United players have requested him to take on a “larger role” in the locker room and function as a liaison between the players and the coaching staff.
Some of the players are still questioning Solskjaer’s tactics, which has been a recurring issue this season.
“There is confusion in the team; players are unsure about the strategies.”
“There is no team; it is just individuals, and there are major issues on defence,” a source stated.
