According to the UK Sun, Manchester United has given Paul Pogba until Christmas to sign a new contract worth £400,000.
Pogba is already in the final year of his current contract at Old Trafford, and the France midfielder will be free to speak with clubs abroad beginning in January 2022.
Senior United officials want to avoid having the saga drag on into the second half of the season.
They believe this will overshadow any success manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer may achieve this term.
On the other hand, United remains quietly confident that Pogba will commit his future to the club. Pogba is also pleased with the signings of Jadon Sancho, Raphael Varane, and Cristiano Ronaldo.
However, the club is aware that top European clubs, most notably Ligue 1 giants PSG, are interested in signing the French World Cup winner.
During the transfer window, it was reported that the Parisians were willing to offer Pogba a weekly salary of £510,000 if he joined them for free next summer.
