Nicolas Anelka, a former Arsenal and Real Madrid striker, believes Kylian Mbappe should lead Paris Saint-attack. Germain’s
Messi, according to Anelka, “has to serve” Mbappe.
Since joining PSG from Monaco in 2017, Mbappe has been a talismanic figure.
In his first 180 games for the club, the 22-year-old scored 136 goals.
However, since Messi’s arrival this summer, Mbappe has had to share the spotlight with him and Neymar.
It has been suggested that Mauricio Pochettino will need to build his team around Messi in order to win the Ligue 1 title and the Champions League, but Anelka believes Mbappe deserves to be the team’s main man.
“Mbappe has to lead the attack because he is the best,” Anelka told Le Parisien.
“Messi was in Barcelona, but he now has to serve Mbappe. He’s been with the club for five years, and Messi owes him respect.
