Oghenekaro Etebo, Super Eagles midfielder, has been ruled out of next year’s Africa Cup of Nations.
Etebo was forced off injured during Watford’s 1-1 Premier League draw with Newcastle United on Saturday.
In the match, Nigerian international Emmanuel Dennis took his place.
Watford confirmed his injury in a statement on their official website.
“Midfielder Peter Etebo tore a quad muscle near the end of Newcastle United’s game last weekend and is expected to be out for four to five months,” the club said.
As a result, he will miss at least 17 Premier League games for the Hornets.
